She would be coming to see me soon .. but we really do not know what it would take us to do so as to be able to get the K3 Visa. Please ... I would love to know everything that has to be done. Anyone got an idea what we need to get done besides the marriage thing? She is coming from the States ... and I am from Nigeria to be precise. Please .. hit me back

If you haven't married yet and your goal is to be together there are some that think the K1 viasa is quicker from Nigeria. Either way you are looking at sometime late next year at the current rates.

Welcome and good luck on either path.

I am from the States and went to Nigeria to marry my fiance with the intention of filing for the K-3 Visa. When I got there, I was told by several people that getting the K-1 Visa would be quicker. I went to the embassy in Lagos and confirmed that. I filed the I 129 petition at the end of July and he is now awaiting his interview in Lagos. The process took longer than expected because of the recent increase in fees. Due to that, many people filed at the same time I did causing the USCIS to get backed up a little. All and all though, it hasn't been that long. I would definately recommend getting the K-1. Don't get married yet.
