Limited hunting can help a certain population. We, humans, have eliminated large numbers of predators, which are an important evolutionary tool for the prey species. The problem is when he makes an absurd blanket statement like he did.

Its not uncommon for people to object to things (like hunting) on general principle. Indeed - it happens all the time.

Having experience with hunting led me to decide it's wrong (although I believe you can figure that out without experience hunting). If there is an overpopulation problem, and scientists are telling us we must intervene, then we must find better options than shooting animals for fun. And there are many others.
