Hello! I need some help, and this forum has been a great source of information to me so far. My fiance is in Sweden, and we are in the process of getting his K1 Visa. Our case is now at the NVC. Here are my issues:

1. I call the automated response service to hear any updates about our case. When I enter the WAC (the CIS Receipt) number, it says our file doesn't exist. When I try to enter our NVC Case Number, it asks me to enter the first three letters on the keypad. I do so and it says those letters are not in the system (its STK for Stockholm so I hit 785). Therefore, I cannot get any information from the automated system. Anyone else having this trouble? Any advice?

2. I got mail from the NVC dated November 16, 2007 saying our visa would be mailed to the embassy in Stockholm within a week. Sweden, a month later, never received anything so I called the NVC. Apparently our case is under administrative processing in Washington and has yet to leave. They said there was no time period on how long it might take. Our lawyer says it can last from days to years. However, I am seeing this happen to a lot of people at the consulate level, not at the NVC. Anyone else have this trouble? How long before it was cleared?

I'm quite frustrated right now and this waiting is killing us. How long do I have to be separated from my love? Thanks for ANY and ALL advice/suggestions/comments about this.

Jennifer (not-so-patiently waiting for my honey to be in my arms again.......)

Dear Impatient Jennifer:

I filed for my husband in December 2006 and only had the case forwarded to the Embassy in December 2007. After the interview, he was told that he would undergo more Administrative Processing and now we wait for another few months to actually get the visa. My husband is from Iran.

I think you need to realize that from your timeline, compared to others, you are in the fast track for your immigration case. I am also sure your husband won't be told, "it will be another 8 weeks to process your fingerprints" after interview. More than likely they will process his fingerprints and be done with it in the same day.

So consider yourself LUCKY that you case has gone through without much delay.

You are RIGHT, I am sorry, and I know many others are waiting much longer than we are. I was thinking that the administrative processing WAS going to take a year. I know that a lot depends on the area that you are from as to how long it takes. It should not, it categorizes people, everyone should have the same time frame I think, but unfortunately that isnt how it works. I send all my prayers and wishes to those of you who are waiting for what I'm sure seems like an eternity to be with your loved one.

HUGS AND PRAYERS TO YOU!

Jennifer

So this is random?? another speed BUMP!

I'm in the US Navy with a SECRET Clearance... how the  did mine come up as a random?? I don't understand this whole process!!! Anyone know if writing to VIP people helps?

I am not sure if it is random or HOW they decide who goes into administrative processing and who doesn't. I never got an explanation.

I hear that contacting your Senator can help in some cases, though I really think that all you can really do is... wait unfortunately. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

Jennifer :)

 If this helps -

Ours was a military expedite (well thats what we thought, coz Daniel's got a deployment coming up). We got our NOA2 on 11/20/2007 and another one on 11/28/2007. Since then (a 1000 phone calls later) NO NEWS... The NVC hasn't recvd it (They haven't recvd it :ranting: not even an AP), USCIS doesn't have it.

Guess, All we can do is wait and pray that it all works out fine and in time.

WOW!!

Not to make you feel bad, but I received my NOA2 17Dec07 and NVC gave me a case number 26Dec07.

Check out this page if you haven't yet....

Wow that is strange that neither the USCIS Or NVC has your case. I know that once the USCIS approves it, they stick it on a truck, then they wait for the truck to fill before they send it to the NVC. Perhaps its loaded on the truck and waiting to be sent? That is frustrating not to know though. I hope you figure out what is going on soon! Best of luck and prayers sent your way too!

Thanks Dyler... I checked it and it looks hopeful (actually every bit of info gives us hope right now) Will also tell Daniel to check it and call. Just have to wait for him to come back home from his military drill so I can call him.

Thanks Jennifer, Its the prayers that keeps us going right now (F) Its just killing us, the thought of Daniel's deployment on 06/06/2008 and that either the USCIS or the NVC has goofed up somewhere and in the meantime, precious time is running out :clock:

I find myself reading the forums all the time now, but I agree with you, sometimes reading it and seeing the timelines of those who are almost finished with the process that filed in May like we did can get rather frustrating, so it is good to take a break and focus on other things. I still find it nice, though, to find there are others experiencing the same issues and that we can stick together through this wait and support each other. Best of luck! Take care!!!

Jennifer :)

I have actually found myself near to tears when I read about people who filed AFTER me and are already at interview and I'm still waiting in NVC. It's really hard too to feel supportive when people haven't waited near as long as I have and they are complaining about their wait. So I try to stay away, cause it's wrong for me to bring other people down because of how I feel. It's better to keep quiet. I've mostly posted on Off Topics or in my portal.

Well I got news today....... our papers were sent to consulate on the 28th! That means yours should be going really soon! I bet within the next two weeks! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Jennifer :)

Awesome news!! Congratulations! So there is an end.......to this stage anyway.
