Hello everyone

This is my first post here and I hope this is the right section of this valuable forum for my inquiry.

My wife came to the US on a K1 visa a few months ago and we got married here in the US within the required 90 days. However, due to an urgent situation she had to leave to her country of origin. We did not pursue the adjustment of status normally done after marriage because she had to leave right away. USCIS has not given me specific instructions as to what to do now, i.e., what forms to send in to get my wife back over. I am quite anxious and concerned for her. We desperately miss one another. Could anyone with experience in a situation like this please advise me as to what my options are for bringing my wife back? Should I file for a K3 after having had the I-129F, etc. approved?

With many thanks and all the best wishes for the holidays and beyond

Frodo

Unfortunately, you'll have to start over but this time for the K3 and/or CR1 visa. Depending on her country of origin, it'll take about a year or so to complete.

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

You'll find instructions in the Guides, so start there and then come back with any questions. Please complete your profile. The country and other information will help us help you. You will be starting from scratch. All your previous I-129F is good for is reference material and possibly spare parts. Its approval means nothing to your process now accept that you can probably be pretty confident of eventual success.

Thanks for the replies and the organizers of this forum.

Hopefully it'll be a bit better than a year (!) should that be the best option. Our K1 filed Nov 06 was granted in June 07. Everything was in order then and will be this time too. The reason for my wife's departure was an emergency. I am in the process of contacting an attorney to see if there are any legal provisons to at least expedite further processing. We are both in our 50's and time is precious...Worse comes to worst I have decided to request leave of absence from work to join my wife meanwhile things are being processed. Nothing is hardly more important to me than that at the moment. Will try to post back any relevant info.

Thanks again pushbrk the Guides were very helpful.

Wishing everyone all the best

Frodo
