They should file a change of address as soon as possible. The USCIS needs to know where they are. Now if they already knew about their interview date, then there shouldn't any problems if they show up to it.

USCIS law requires that an immigrant send in an AR-11 change of address notice within 10 days of a move, and that a US citizen sponsor notify USCIS of a change of address within 30 days of a move, or face monetary fines and/or jail time.

Tell them to get the address change notice in asap.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Reba,

I am confused what you just wrote, is it applicable in all situations means whenever immigrant moves or just when you submit for renewal of greencard.

Drool, do you know if this applies to people with a Permanent Resident card who just arrive with a 10-year expiration date, but who do not have a conditional status, (since they have been married more than 2 years.) Do they have to inform anyone of their wherabouts? If so, what happens in the case of an immigrating spouse who disappears on her "husband" in a fraudulant manner. Can he help to get her Permanent Resident Visa removed on the basis of the fact that he has no idea of her present address, and she hasn't informed the Immigration of an address change, and by proving that the the marriage was not based on good faith?

until you become a US citizen you have to inform the USCIS of every move you make...

you can file the AR-11 online now, which even changes your address on most pending cases...

AR-11 - ONLINE CHANGE OF ADDRESS

How Do I Change My Address

AR-11 - Change of Address

You also need to file a I-865... this one you have to mail in though...
