Where does the green card come from?

Does the green card come from MSC/National Benefits Center? I'm sure it does like almost everything else, just curious. Thanks.

Now that we have had our fun, I believe they are made at the Service Center. Not sure if all are made at one specific Service Center or at the one with which you applied.

It comes from the Service Center dealing with your case. In my case it was Vermont.

If you have been waiting that long - and you were told at interview that you were approved - I would get onto the Service Center and ask what's happening. If not, get an INFOPASS appointment and go into your District Office and see what the hold up is.

I agree it comes from the service center dealing with your case but maybe they are 'manufactured' at a central place (maybe not.) I do remember my first Green card (and only) was in the brown envelope that I handed to the immigration guy on my arrival - he tore it open and handed me my Green card! That was at LAX many years ago!

I think I understand now. So our service center is Texas as we are in Florida, so I guess the greencard comes from the Texas service center. I was just trying to figure out why some people receive their greencards just days after approval, and some wait a month or more. The wait time makes sense if it is indeed the service center that mails it out.

So 43 days doesn't seem so bad after all maybe. Thanks.

All Immigrant Visa Green Cards are produced at Texas, according to my local USCIS officer. These almost always get to the immigrant within one month.

All others (AOS, 10-year etc) are produced according to your Service Center and can take any variety of timelines, based on what I've read.
