Hi,

We applied for my K1 this november. As of now we have got our NOA1 and waiting on the NOA2.

Meanwhile I thought I will start going about obtaining the police certificates.

Since the age 16,

I have lived in Guntur for 2 years for my 11th and 12th classes.

Then lived in Rajsathan for 4 years for my undergrad.

Lived in Bangalore for 1 year for project work.

And ever since lived in Hyderabad for 4 years now.

My Passport issuing place is Jaipur.

Questions

1.Is it alright to get the certificates from all places except my current place of residence now itself(considering my interview as per the average timelines won't happen until the next 4 mths atleast) ??

2. Do I have to go to Jaipur and get a certificate from the passport office/commissioner's office there?

If I have to do that, what all proof do I need to take to the commissioner's office. Is there a particular certificate that my college

needs to give me

3. My residence in Bangalore was a hostel, which no longer is there. So what do I do here?

4. When you say commissioner's office, and say that we need to pay a 300Rs fee etc etc, which office are u exactly referring to?

The passport issuing place or a commissioner's office in every single place that I have lived?

Any info on this is higly appreciated.

TIA,

Police Records

Indian Police Clearance Certificates should be obtained as follows:

  • All Indian IV applicants aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police certificates from the local Passport Office. These are usually more dependable than those obtained at a local level and indicate that the subject had no serious criminal convictions on record at the time of passport issuance. Applicants whose Indian passport was issued within the past six months may present just the Passport Office Police Certificate, and need not obtain additional police clearances.

  • Applicants over age 16, whose passports were issued more than six months previous to visa application, must also obtain a police clearance from the District Police Office serving the applicant's place of residence.

hi,

1. You will have to get the PCC from current place from the police commisioners's office.. if i am not wrong you in Hyderabad now.

2. Your passport is from Jaipur so you will have to get the Passport Office Police clearance certificate ( passport PCC). You can carry any proof such as college leaving certificate , if u have a copy of Leaving certificae of the rajasthan undergrad college... u can submit that too.... with that u can give photo identity proof such as PAN card or Driving license, Election card... Ration card copy... etc.

3. For Banglore... try to apply the PCC , i doubt if u get it... If u dont get tell the Consulate about it that urs was a hostel residence

4. When we say Commissioner's office... it means every commissioner's office has a department for proving PCC, character certificates and dept for foreigners... there you have to go and apply the PCC as the small local police station dont have the right to issue PCC. You have to apply at the commsiioner's office... tht offfice send ur report for a verification to the loacl police station of ur residence and then report goes back to commissioners office... and then you get the PCC from police.

In short you have to get PCC from:-

>>>>>>> police from Guntur, Rajasthan, Banglore (if u get it) & Hyderabad ( ur current residence)

>>>>>>> Passport office of Jaipur.

I hope this helps
