Hi, I filed a 129f and all the other papers and evidence and on 10-18-07 I recieved my confirmation that it was recieved. I was just wondering if there is any chance of this being denied. Now ive known her for about 4 months and have already visited her. My only concern is that they wont like the fact that when I sent in the papers I only knew her for under 2 months. are they suspicious of foriegn woman who fall in love "too fast" because they think they are not sincere. We both have clean records and have both never been married. Does the USCIS ever deny an application because of the length of a relationship.

I haven't heard of the petition being denied. USCIS is mostly concerned that you have met in person within the last two years. HOWEVER, the consulate might be suspicious. What country is she from? Just make sure you have LOTS of proof of ongoing relationship for her to take to the interview.

thanks for the replies. She is from the philippines. I will probably visit onec more before the interview. I already have a few hundred photos, and some ridiculuse phone bills(over 500 dollars per month) and all the other proof that I visited there. Hopefully that will clear up any doubt and they wont be suspicious.

I actually fixed the problem by buying a voip phone which is free to talk to her as much as I want and sent it there. It works great and is free. The only problem is I dont get a bill so it doesnt prove relationship as much I suppose but does save money.

is the voip phone connected to pc? coz if it does then you are using messenger like skype or YM? i think u can save call history.

A short courtship followed by a quick engagement the first time you met in person is certainly a red flag, that will come up at the consular interview, but not a reason for automatic denial. Make sure you have a lot of proof of ongoing relationship by the time of the interview.

Not trying to ridicule, but the quantity of photos only proves you like to take photos. It is not proof of a valid relationship. Make sure you have a lot of additional evidence. I know if I were in the C/O's shoes, I'd highly question a less than 2 month relationship that is already at a serious level.

Relationships with compressed timeline are actually quite common for internet based meetings; so common they aren't any big deal even for high fraud countries. Generally there's no severe questioning of a relationship unless there are additional red flags.

Unless you have pictures in numerous places with different clothes on different date and with different people, quantity doesn't mean much. You definitely want to carefully document your relationship and visit as much as possible.

Can I get one of those phones for Egypt? Even though we are almost to our interview stage I owuld like to send him one and he can leave it with his parents so when he gets here he can talk to them all he wants. Any info you can give will be greatly appreciated.

I agree about the quantity of photos.

We were together for 2 years by the time we filed - and I lived in Brazil - and we still only sent 6 pictures.

It seemed I took very few photos while we were living together, never thinking about immigration.

Exact opposite of what I would think. I'd believe a 2 month relationship with day-to-day personal contact far quicker than one over the internet with the same time frame. How serious can you get over the internet in only two months?

Our timeline:

Started talking to each other over the internet end of January 2004

Met in person April 2004 -- we knew by then that we loved each other, meeting each other just confirmed it

Met again in May 2004 -- got engaged

Got the visa in October 2004

got married November 2004 (less than two weeks after getting the visa)

still going strong 3 years later! So Kazan, it can happen!

I did get some questions at the consular stage -- the officer was kinda amazed that we got engaged the second time we met, and asked if we had met each other's families. When I told her even our parents had met each other and was rummaging to get out the pictures to prove it, she seemed ok with it and eventually approved me. I had proof up the wazoo to show that we were legitimate.
