Passage Revelation 19:11:

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

"satan is real and he's playing for keeps
God is realer and we are His sheep
which side are you on, CHOOSE, start moving your feet
choose JESUS and have ETERNAL PEACE" by GOD to me on 9/26/10 about 2am
Thank you Jesus!!!!

I have not been in the same situation, but have some knowledge about taxes.

I wouldn't stress. It doesn't sound like you are trying to evade taxes - you are filing and just need extra time to pay. The consulate is more concerned that you make at least the poverty level of $$ and can prove that.

And do you think the IRS and the State Dept (oversees consulates) share much knowledge?

Also, you may want to adjust the withholding at your job so that at least in 2008 they will be taking more and you won't add to your debt in April 2009.

Good Luck!

I can't see how owing taxes would keep them from allowing him to come. At the time I was working on bringing my husband here I filed taxes and it turned out that I owed as well. I had to pay over time, but I did pay it off about 6 months before he got here. He was originally denied, but it had nothing to do with the taxes I owed.

Just an fyi, you need to claim less exemptions on your W-4. You can claim as little as zero. Also, if you find that is still not enough you can elect an additional dollar amount to come out of each check. The IRS has a calculator that will help you to determine if you are having enough taxes taken out of each check, I would recommend trying it. One thing you will find is that the penalties and interest you pay is horrible. Best to plan ahead on these things.
