My fiance has an interview on February 7th. I have a few questions:

~ Should I buy the ticket for him now?

~ If I do, when should I book it for? 1 week from the interview? 2 weeks? when do they usually get visa after approval?

~ What's the best deal out there from Manila to the East coast (FL) - one way??? I was thinking of continental, cathay, or northwestern. They have the MILES option (you earn miles). I'm definitely open to suggestions.

~ lastly, I've read in some forums that if your point of entry is JFK, they give you a temporary working permit for 90 days... how useful is this? Does anyone strongly recommend for us to do this or just wait until he gets his permanent working permit?

Your input will be greatly appreciated!

You never know what can happen.. Or you will be sorry.. Some people here gamble sometimes they win, sometimes they don't.

But since your talking about plane ticket.. I suggest you just send the money and let your fiance get the plane ticket over there.. Its cheaper there.. Just need to canvass on Travel Agent to find the best deal.

It should run you no more that $800..

I got all of my tickets already. If I am wrong on hers (704.00) it has a $50.00 cancellation fee. I will roll the dice for 50 bucks Tickets are less in the PI but if you don't live at the POE it ends up being more. I wanted her on my flight home I bought my tickets round trip 987.00 from Orbitz.com and her flight home at Expedia.com for 704.00. Same flight and I picked seats sitting together

Good Luck for that i did not make any arrangement yet about flight its better to secure the passport visa first on your hand before get sleepless night ,streesed and pressure ? US EMBASSY TRAVEL ADVISORY DO NOT MAKE ANY TRAVEL ARRANGEMENT ...

We strongly suggest not to buy the ticket until your fiance has his visa in hand. Payment of the DELBROS after the interview is not really a guarantee that the visa application is approved. A number of couples here have been placed on AR even after paying the DELBROS and we know personally a couple who are our friends who until now are still in AR even though the lady fiancee was interviewed last September. He had to cancel the ticket he bought and paid some charges. So just to be safe, buy the ticket when he receives his visa. Just send him the money for it.

Hope this info helps and Merry Christmas to you both :) GOODLUCK!!!
