I'm a little confused...

Some foreign U.S. consulates require a 2nd affidavit of support which is called "sponsor's financial responsibility

under the social security act." It is a simple form and easily filled out and signed. The Hong Kong consulate does

require this form, as does the Sydney (Australia) consulate.

Uhm... I feel silly saying this, but I don't really understand what that means. Or how to get a copy of such a form. Could someone kindly explain to me what exactly it is?

Thanks.

This is neither a true statement or one that is applicable to the question asked.

It's a good idea to provide more than just a tax return to support the I-134 but it is not a "have to" by any means.

Nevertheless, the question is about a separate form that is apparently required by some Consulate, not supporting evidence for the I-134. The question is about a government form. One has been suggested as a possible answer and it appears to be exactly correct.

Just curious--how did youknow the consulate received the NVC's documents? Did you call and ask, and, if so, whom do you call? Our case was sent out the day before and we would like to know where it is...

Thanks!

You can call the US State Department: (202) 663-1225 - press 1, 0. they can tell you if the consulate has you file, if Packet 3 was sent, if the interview is scheduled, etc.
