4 Affidavit of Support documents?

I am noticing many people talking about having 4 copies of their Affidavit od Support documents I-134.

Are we supposed to have 4 copies? Why, and when did this come about? Did something change? Do I need to go make 3 more copies?

I would hate to make a goofy mistake like that this late in the process.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Adam,

as far as I know, they only require two copies of the 134 that are notorized but like everyone else I made two back up copies. Hey, what flight are you on out of Manila on the 17th? Me and my fiancee are on CO934 to Narita then to Houston, TX. We have our interview on Jan 9th. Let me know so maybe we can chat on the flight.

Best Wishes on your interview and hope the info helps

Why do we need 2 original copies? I dont see anything anywhere stating we need 2 copies.

*boggles* If I make another now, it will be entirely different from the first one I did in October.

I haven't read anywhere it says to notarize 2 copies. you just need 1 copy for them and that is done. maybe someone will know whos been to the interview already.

I've been doing everything in a minimum of sets of two in case when I send the items and they don't arrive, I can get another sent without a delay. Over time, people may of just adopted the same thing and others assumed that the multiple copies are required. (IMO)

Where does it say they need 2 copies?

I had 3 made. I sent 2 to my fiancee, one for the Packet 4 and one for her own records. So she does have 2 copies.. But the documents only request one copy.

you only need one notarized I-134 for the interview. having a backup is a good idea, but it's not required.
