Hello all, Well after 7 long months of waiting we finally had our interview for AOS yesterday in Sacramento. Our interview only lasted about 30 minutes but we didn't get the answer or results we were hoping for. We were not denied and we were not approved! After completing our interview the women that was interviewing us saw that my husband never registered with NSEERS ( I think thats right or very close). Its a program after 9/11 for men from certain middle eastern country's. My husband was asked why he didn't register and he told her he never received a letter with a date and time...and here's the best answer I think I've ever heard from Immigration!! She told us that it was all over the media that men from these countries need to go register!!! Now this is coming from a country that doesn't want us to live our lives through the media. We were then told by someone else in the office that he should have received a letter with a date and time to go register. Also the IO that was interviewing us told us that if you had asylum papers pending that you didn't have to register and my husband did try to apply for asylum in 02 so I think that might be the reason he did not have to register. I just wish for once that we could get a straight answer from someone. So to sum this up our interview wasn't the best, so now we have to wait but were not sure how long we were told me would get a letter for him to go register, but does that mean that the GC cant be approved until after he has registered. It seems we are being punished for a mistake on there part. And the sad part is that my husband hasn't been home since 01 and we were hoping that he would have been able to travel home to see him mom before he starts him job with IBM in Feb, but it looks like that won't be happening anytime soon. Well thanks for listening to me vent and I will update when we here more about our interview.

Melissa
