Where the hell is my NOA, PART II

As some of you already know, I should have received my NOA and Biometrics appointment letter some time ago. However, I did not receive either of them. So I called the 800 # and they instructed me to make an Infopass appointment; go to my local office and get my passport stamped and inquire on the Biometrics.

I went to my local office December 18, 2007. I informed them that we have not received our NOA or Biometrics Info. They told me that since the fee increases they have been way behind. That the money does not go to them, it goes to contractors who do the mailing, services, and security. He said that they had ran out of paper to print the receipts and other notices. (if that is really true our Gov't is really going down!). He told me that they got a surge in cases from two years ago and that the system is just not working properly now.

Nevertheless, he stamped my husband's passport and we went to another location and got the Biometrics done the same day. I was so glad because our local office is 5 hours away from where we live.

What was interesting everything was all in the system, the case number, biometric appointment time, etc. (now how would we have known when to come and how to track the status without receiving any notices).

Ironically, when we made it back home I checked the mail and there was the Biometrics letter; appointment (January 9,2008) Oh well, I am glad I went because I am done...just waiting on approval.

I never received an NOA and never will I suppose...but at least I am back on track and just waiting for approval. I recommend anyone that has not received there NOA after some time to go to there local office. Maybe you will be lucky like I was to get your passport stamped and Bio done the same day.

Being proactive helps sometimes as you showed us. The incompetence of government is absolutely unbelievable. Congratulations on your success.

Almost same thing happend to me. I called 1-800 number several time for no gain as they dont know anything (i think its 3rd party service that answers only general question which most of the people already knows) finally i decided to goto infopass (local Office). they not only printed my biometric apt letter but also let me take biometric same day. But anyhow, Congrats.....

I'm glad you got the stamp and biometrics. :)

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
