Sounds delicious. I'm sure that baby will enjoy the yummy foods.

BTW...I think we've settled on a name...Joshua (no more Ozzy) :D

How about Joshua Gupt Fancypants?

Joshua Aidan Fancypants. Aidan is a family name that my Dad suggested.

Love the name, Steven! BTW, I believe I suggested Aidan in that other thread before. I rock!

Anyhoo, for Christmas Eve we go to my great-aunt and uncle's house - there are usually about 20-25 of us. We have lobsters and my aunt's awesome clam chowder and jingle bell martinis (yay!). My cousin always dresses up as Santa brings the kids their presents.

Christmas day we're driving down to CT to my dad's house. Not sure what the plans are, but I'm sure it will involve beef and Wii.

You do rock, Jenn. :luv: How do you make a jingle bell martini?

Yeah i have to come back home Thursday afternoon so i can rest from long drive then have report back on Friday blah. I have Tuesday Wednesday Thursday off wooooooo.

Enjoy your time off and relax with the family, Eric!

Normally we would go to asheville to my in-law house in the mountain but this year - Since we just moved in to the new house 1 week ago as of today - we are inviting people to our house instead so they can see our new house!

Still need to unpack and find place for all our stuff (it's a big empty old house with little tiny closet) and problably going to try to find more furniture to accomodate people who'll be coming..

Bram and my father in law are exceptional good cook so we are making them cook for our dinner and me and my mother in law will try to sort my stuff together..

there would'nt be anything religious for our celebration - just family get together and show our loves!!

Tomorrow we leave and we'll stay in a hotel/resort & spa until the 26th, just me and my husband. For New Year, we'll be in Yosemite. Tonight is packing time. This trip is my Christmas gift to my husband and to my self (for working hard).

Happy holidays to you & your family.

We'll be in Yosemite then, too

Christmas Eve we will have a service at our church (I'm singing in the choir :) ). When we get home, the tree goes up; I make a point of distinguishing Advent from Christmas, so no tree until Christmas Eve, which begins after sundown on the 24th. I might put the tree up before church, but I don't know how Chloe will behave, and I'm not sure I want to risk leaving her alone with it immediately after putting it up. The tree will then stay up till Epiphany, perhaps a bit longer. Christmas morning we have another church service, which begins with Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful in Latin :) Choir is singing that service, too. For me, the church services are the central thing in Christmas; it's all about the birth of the Child. Take that out, and I'm pretty much "humbug" about the whole thing. After church, we will go to my sister's house along with my parents for dinner and exchanging gifts.

That night and the next morning...we've got a lot of songs to sing, and as one of only two tenors, I've really got to sing out to carry the part :)

Merry Christmas to you, too, Steven :star:

I'll be getting things ready for Nani and Naomi to come home a few days after Christmas. Christmas itself, I'll most likely spend by myself. A few friends invited me over but I don't think I can get into the spirit w/o my wife and child here. And I don't want to drag down anyone's Christmas gathering should this really be hard on me - which I tend to think it will be. We'll have a belated Christmas this year when they come back Saturday. Not ideal but this is just how it works out this year.

Going to the in-laws Christmas Eve, either before or after a Christmas Eve service. I'm particular -- I want candlelight and quiet -- no drama or theatrics. Then staying overnight and spending Christmas morning with them. We have breakfast, open presents, have lunch, and then we will be coming home to open the gifts we receive from my side of the family and the ones we buy for each other. Then I have to work the next day, which sucks.

Through all of that, I will be missing my family at home. Christmas is a hard time of year for me.

Hope you'll not be too down. Go to one of the local church services where the music is enough to lift anyone's spirit. Merry Christmas, Reinhard! :star:
