I am sooooooooooooo excited. I called yesterday to see if the Embassy received our papers yet and I found out that they received them on 12-17-07 and they have mailed the Packet 3 out to Ahmed. It is EID there now but hopefully on Sunday when Post starts again he will receive his Packet 3!!!!!!! However, he is also still waiitng on the stuff I sent via Fed Ex.....and they said the 23rd if no problems at customs. But it is just papers how can that be a problem at customs???? Anyway, will keep you all posted. Thanks for all your support, understanding, advice, and kind words.

Congratulations, Cheryl!

Customs holds the right to inspect mail, papers or otherwise, and can hold them for up to 30 days.

Hopefully, your Sweety will get them on the 23rd as promised.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

that's awesome!!! You should have no problem with customs. Just keep an eye out on the tracking of the package. My husband is friends with the postman now and the guy calls him when he gets something. Here's hoping it's speedy from here on out!

Congrats Cheryl and keep you eye on Fedex . Probably if your SO lives in Cairo, it will be OK though.

No He lives in Damanhour which is 2 hours from Cairo. Now I am worried. Maybe I should have found a DHL office to send it by. I wanted it sent to the Fed EX Office in Alexandria and held for hid pick up but they said they did not have an office where they hold packages for people to pick up. So I had to send it to his address in Damanhour and have them deliver it. Wallahi I will worry now. Maybe I can track it today and see where it is.

No don't worry Cheryl, just monitor the package. Actually the FedEx office in Cairo held the package for my husband and he had to pick it up. He lived in Upper Egypt and they claimed the address did not exist! So he did eventually get it,but it was just an inconvenience because I had paid for it to be delivered and he had to travel down to Cairo to get it.

My SO lives (lived?) 2 hours out of Cairo in the delta, he always got his packages. Sometimes they forgot to call him before he made friends with the DHL guy (I started sending it DHL after the first few times) but an aquantance would always get around to telling him at one point or another ;)

Just track it and let him know when it's out for delivery so he can look for it, ect....
