My friend is arriving from England in four hours!!! Yay! I have my AOS interview on Monday and was wondering, aside from me and my husband, can she come into the embassy too? If its anything like the London Embassy then I assume not but I thought I would ask.

I think you may have a problem taking a person with you that is not either the petitioner or the beneficiary.

But, you could take her along, and if they don't let her in, she could just go wait in your car or go have a cup of coffee somewhere.

I know they let lawyers in -- you could tell the guards your friend is your lawyer. ;)

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

wow, you sure flew through the AOS stuff. Claudeth's was mailed in September and her petition was just transferred to CSC last month. Good luck with the interview

Another category that everyone has missed is "Translator" - You can take a translator with you, if they allow it. For my wife's AOS interview, I have arranged for a feiend to be the translator (Spanish/English) - they specifically say that "If you do not speak English fluently, you should bring an interpreter". Good luck

Well, you are going to an office, not an embassy or consulate. So I'm guessing standard office etiquette is going to apply.

I would guess that she can probably wait for you in the lobby but won't be allowed in the interview room.

When we went for bios only Wes was allowed in the room...they wouldn't let me go with him.

Not unless they need a interpreter to translate from British English to American English... ;)
