How about a good old fashion sit in at Homeland Security

I'm ready to say it...The Department of Homeland Security is a pure and total failure. This is illustrated both with regards to our immigration issues and the terrible response we are still seeing to Hurricane Katrina.

I agree. It is a gigantic government #######. I'm becoming more convinced that less government is better, it just does not work as intended

I am seriously starting to think that there may need to be a class action suit filed against DHS for their behavior with regards to VISAs. Maybe if enough people joined a suit, they would get their ###### together. Seriously, all of the October and September filers are REALLY pissing me off badly. This process has truly made me change my view on our government.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

In a modest town where honest people dwell

--July 22---------Sent I-129F packet

Maybe that's not a bad idea. I know Lora was talking to the ACLU, I wonder if she has heard anything definitive from them? A couple of posts also had links to well known imigration lawyers, but there is probably no money in it for them ...

That's obviously a forced smile. I think we're all aware now that they are completely emotionless baffoons. I see a bunch of fools sitting around a table drooling. Think about One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. That's what a USCIS office looks like.

That's been my question all along. Obviously, the lawyer would have to seek not only changes to the system, but some type of financial reimbursement. Putting a value on our hardships won't be easy, but that's what lawyers do.

In all honesty the people working the service centres are just doing their jobs. It is the management and the people who make the bureaucratic rules and regulations that you should direct your anger at. ;)

I don't buy it. I know that there must be a few hard workers on their staff, but nothing will convince me that there isn't a culture of laziness at VSC.

Well, we had a member here who actually used to work in a service centre and it was very interesting to read about his side of things. Everything isn't always what it appears and I really don't think that the service centres are full of people sitting around ignoring the cases, eating donuts and using the files for coffee coasters.

More likely they are swamped by cases and/or understaffed (most likely the latter).

Correct me if I am wrong but there was an enormous increase in visa applications and they hired on hundreds of new immigration officers..... Now that they are caught up, shouldn't they be zipping through the visa applications at a supersonic rate? Oh yeah, I forgot, they are very stupid!

It's frustrating, I get that, but unless you are actually sitting in one of the service centres witnessing this kind of lazy behaviour then it is all conjecture. :)

maybe....maybe not but when a single application take 7 months and others take hmmmm lets say....3 months for no other reason but luck....I think that is pretty much lainess on someone part......or death may have occured and no one noticed.....Look I live near Washington, dc and there are some good employees but the government breeds indifference and laziness....Sorry but that is a reality
