The fact we are even having this debate proves one thing! There is no proof!

"Yesterday, a group of scientists warned that because of global warming, sea levels will rise so much that parts of New Jersey will be under water. The bad news? Parts of New Jersey won't be under water." --Conan O'Brien

well darn...so much for that plan of urban renewal.

We could turn it into a water park

Amazing, the presence of ancient trees under glaciers somehow means that nothing man can do will have a damaging effect on planet earth. Brilliant!

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Somehow I don't think a mean global temperature accurately states why Charles suffered a nasty winter while parts of Sudan simultaneously suffered a drought. Oh wait! Me thinks the world actually, being round and all, has seasons and temperature variations that are part of climate shifts.

I have a better explanation.

God loves America and hates Muslims. The drought in Sudan is God's punishment for

all the horrible evil things they've done.

You know... in a sick, sarcastic sort of way, that is actually really funny.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

In your mind maybe. IMO all this thread proves is that lay people are not scientists, don't have the knowledge and furthermore are not qualified to assess and filter the broad knowledge base that comprises this field of study.

When I get sick - I'll go to my doctor to find out what's wrong, rather than entrusting a professional diagnosis to a cabal of internet forum DIYers.

Science is doable as long as one holds all independent variables (what you can control in an experiment) as constant as possible and keep assumptions and biases outside the lab. Anyone can be a scientist, and the evidence being flaunted around this thread- at least the graphical data, shows that reading comprehension is not prerequisite for many folks to make valid scientific conclusions.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Conspiracy!

I love the way that conspiracy theories are always way more complicated and convoluted than anything they are trying to explain.

Created because there are many people working in the field, in countries all over the world.

Of course there's no shortage of pundits. Perhaps that's where your confusion stems from?
