My place is small, but the furnace is running constantly and it's still cold in here. I dare not turn up the heat because I just cannot afford to. Thank God the pets have fur and feathers.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I keep the thermostat about 60 at night, sometimes lower. (the bedrooms are upstairs and it's always warmer up there) and the same during the day when no one is at home. If I'm REALLY cold, I'll crank it to 70 for about 30 minutes. I've got in the habit of layering and covering up with a big blanket while watching T.V. I can't wait for spring to get here.

I do not envy you denizens of the cold.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

In a modest town where honest people dwell

It sucks!

I'll be jealous of you from about May through September, though.

Hopefully we can have a real spring this year. Seems like every year we go from freezing our butts off, to one or two weeks of nice spring weather, to now we're sweating our butts off  LOL! We're never happy with the weather. :innocent:

I do the layering, too. I keep the heat at 65 and never turn it up. :help:

I have one, but I have not used it in years. The kerosene is higher than the price of gas and besides it leaves off an odor that I don't think is too healthy for the pets. I figured by the time I got my heat bill and what I paid out in kerosene was about what I would pay just running the furnace, if that makes sense.
