I was curious to know if, once you call the NVC number, there is an option (#1) that allows you to enter your receipt number for IMMIGRANT visas. Does this work for non-immigrant visas (K-1) as well? I'd rather just be able to put my receipt number into the automated system than have to listen to a customer service rep. tell me once again "wait a few days we have not received your petition yet."

No, it doesn't work for K-1's...non-immigrant numbers. I don't know if you're having trouble getting through to anyone "live", but if you call late at night, you can usually get through quickly. I don't know who's calling either, but I (the beneficiary) was able to get the information. I've heard the petitioner has trouble.

Unfortunately no, and it's mainly because K1 visas only go through the NVC to have their case # assigned and then they're shipped to the embassy so there's no time to even put them in the automated system. You will have to speak to a customer service rep to get an update regarding your case.

Thanks for the replies. I have called and talked to customer reps. several times, they just always tell me the same thing lol and it would have been nice to just go through the automated line. Guess I'll keep hearing "It can take 2-4 weeks but up to 90 days.....blah blah blah"

I've noticed that petitions going through CSC are taking about 4-6 weeks to make it to the NVC. You're pretty close.

And me like a bloke was calling daily to NVC to get status of my K1 through automated voice system! lol. Good thing that I read this thread.
