I am currently using PINGO and I find it to be a nice calling card plan, but I was wondering what some of you are using, and an example of the rates. My guy is currently living in the UK, but goes back and forth to his home in Nigeria. We talk from both locations and we are sharing the expense by alternating the expense month to month.

I don't have much experience with other calling card plans or even with purchasing one-time-use card types. I would appreciate any suggestions just to get an idea whether PINGO is as cost-effective as I believe it to be....thank you

There are so many cheap cards and rates at this site.

www.zoganom.pushline.com

And moreover, you could print the call history for your interview.

Thank you. Pingo also allows for call history printing. That is the main reason I chose them. I will look at the others and compare rates. Thanks again.

I use pingo too because they don't cheat you out of the minutes you have. Some of the calling cards give you way less minutes than they say they allow. And with pingo no need to enter PINs and all that other stuff.

I'm new to calling cards too, but I use World Phone card. The rates are good when I call land phone to land phone (2 cent per minute, round up to the nearest minute), but there is no way to print out calling history. The rates are not that great when calling his mobile phone.

Here is the website: http://www.worldphonecard.com/

$20.00 = 1000 minutes

$30.00 = 1500 minutes

$40.00 = 2000 minutes

$100.00 = 5000 minutes

Connect Fee: No

Surcharges: No

Maintenance: No

Pay Phone: Yes

Rechargeable

Pinless Dialing

Toll Free Access only 1¢ more per minute

Save by using Local Access

Enter up to 5 phone numbers for using the pinless feature

Only one PIN per account

PIN balance available by using "My Account"

Let me know what you think!

You may want to try and find a calling card that will give you a call hostiry so that you can use that as evidence for your interview.

Just a suggestion :)

Ok, I'll check out Pingo. I do have call history from my cell phone bills that I use to call my sweetie on the weekends. It shows the calling card number as dialed vs. his phone number. Do you think that will be acceptable?

That is fine. As long as you have some kind of record you should be good

I just signed up for Pingo because they keep a call record - have been using the NYC card which is 11 cents/min to call Kathmandu - I have not found anything cheaper and Pingo is the same rate. I am glad to see other people giving it positive reviews.

Thanks to this forum I am now using pingo too. Thank you everybody!!!!

Hey Stevi,

I use Ohio calling cards..you can get them at the african store on Reading road. I think they are great. They are good for an hour and it is just 5.00 dollars.

Generally speaking, phone cards suck. They usually don't give you anywhere near the minutes they promise. On the other hand, even not giving the full minute count, they still beat any other means of calling certain places. We currently use STI's FREE card to call Ethiopia (land to cell) - they announce and actually provide 12 min on a $2.00 card as long as you dial in via the local access number. Good enough for me and certainly the best deal we've come across over the last few years using various cards.

The site quoted earlier (http://www.worldphonecard.com), for example, had the African Dream card on their list for Ethiopia saying it gives you 29 min on $5.00. My #######. If you're lucky enough to actually get through, you get maybe 16 or 18 minutes on that $5.00 card. Most the time it deducts money w/o ever actually establishing a connection. It's a crappy card - at least when calling Ethiopia. It might work well to other African countries.

Although it isn't actually a phone card I use the Yahoo IM feature of Phone out. It makes a nice little history that you can print out at any time. My SO only has a cell , the rates are so so but the easy histry is nice and the call quality is reasonable. And if you both have computers you can connect for FREE To save the history you have to be saving uour message/chat history. Unfortunately my SO doesn't have a computer either.

Yes, this feature with yahoo is great. Hard to believe that it is still free. Good call clarity too. Even nicer with the web cam going while we talk.
