Hyphanated name - not on NOA

I have finally received the NOA1 for my AOS, EAD, AP. My name is correctly spelled, but my last name is not hyphanated (my family name with my hubby's), as I have written it in my applications and as I have the SSN. Both name appears, but not hyphanated.

Did anyone have a situation like this? Is this considered a mistake? Should I call and have it changed? Will my other docs be correct (hyphanated)?

If you had a situation like this, please advice. Thanks.

I'm interested in any replies as well. My fiancée plans to hyphenate and would be nice to know what to expect.

It may be there is a space limitation on the I-797 (NOA) - what's important is what is on the EAD/Green Card etc.

Well, exactly, what I am concerned is what name will appear on the GC, EAD, AP, since on the NOA it is spelled wrong.

I called the 1800 number today and I asked about that and yes, they said that the name that is on the NOA is the one which will appear on my GC, so she recommended that we should change it now, while it's still time. She took all info she needed from me and I should get a notice from uscis that they performed the change, before January 18, 2008.

USCIS seems to have an issue with hyphens and other special characters. My husband has a hyphen in his name that USCIS always replaced with a space on the NOAs, EAD, and green card. Perhaps if you make a special request, they will correct the spelling. (We wanted to minimize our dealings with USCIS and decided not to contact them about the error.)

I wonder if that will become a problem later for tax and social security purposes. I was told that the name has to match exactly, I hope they won't be picky about a hyphen.
