Abortion is not the answer here. Kids are bombarded with sex sex sex on tv, in the magazines and now even in schools. Yet not one magazine or TV show actually teaches kids that their every action has consequences or what responsibility means.

But most important, is the parent's education and guidance to help teenagers make better decisions. I've seen some TV shows that talk about teenage pregnancy (isn't there a movie coming out soon too?), but it feels like it's so romanticized... teenage daughter gets pregnant, mother and daughter have a heart felt conversation, they cry and hug, and end of show.

Saludos,

Caro

I'm 48, "sex sex sex" is nothing new. It's all we talked about in school too when I was young. No different 20 years before that. IMO, there was a whole lot more free sex going on in 70s than today and unprotected. And guess what? I stayed a virgin until was 20. I was a whole lot older than any of my friends. Do you know why? I was raised to understand what sex might lead to.

It is not a magazine publisher's, movie or television producer's responsibility to teach my child jack squat. It's mine. This is where the answer lies. Good parenting, not censoring and expecting the media to do it for you.

What's really changed present day? Too many working parents both out buying bigger houses and more possessions thinking this is how to give their family more. "I need to work longer, have more money, so we can have more and look better than our neighbour." Give your daughter the latest designer jeans but fail to simply have a needed conversation with her. I see a lot of parents so caught up in this illusion they neglect what is really needed: giving time to their children and raising them properly.

Abortion is not the answer here. Kids are bombarded with sex sex sex on tv, in the magazines and now even in schools. Yet not one magazine or TV show actually teaches kids that their every action has consequences or what responsibility means.

People should be allowed to do as they please as long as they don't infringe on anothers rights. Anything else is not freedom.

Of course, if all people were rational and educated of all their options, they would make better choices. But they're not and never will be. The gift of freedom to people, therefore, will always be pock marked by people like this making decisions like this (and worse).

At the same time if you look at countries which have a much much higher living standard than the US, they have the same freedom as the US. Yet they also draw the line somewhere and have measures to protect their society and the people who live in it. A civilized society needs to draw the line somewhere. Needs to define what is acceptable and what is not. The anything goes style of society is a failed concept.

What examples were you thinking of here?

They have things like universal welfare and health care, although I am sure that's not what Boo-Yah was alluding to.

Just thank goodness those boys found her.

Just goes to show, IMO, that despite all the smack these days about irresponsible teenagers, there are more good ones out there than bad. It only took one person to put that poor baby in the dumpster - the boys that found her worked together to save her.

Hows about go temporary insane on that girl and hold her under the water until her lungs begin to fill!

I knew of a girl who gave birth by herself, then drowned the baby in the toilet.

She was eventually caught, but her parents got a $$$$$$$$$ lawyer, and she was found 'not guilty due to temporary insanity'

That sounds like all the movies on the Lifetime Channel.

That's insane.

But if somebody was to suddenly go insane and drown her, they would go to jail right away.
