I don't believe you need a Social Security number for the I-485 (just from what I've seen on several other posts). I'd suggest getting one as soon as you can anyway, just because you WILL need it sooner or later.... and "an immigrant petition giving me an immediately available immigrant visa number has been approved." since an I-130 is an immigrant petition.. I'm not an expert; that's just my "best guess".. Either way, having a nice clear cover letter wouldn't hurt.

Good luck!

You do not need a Social Security number for the I-485. Just write none.

Any notice of action you have received will have the A number on top of it.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

This is a common question. You do not need SSN to file I-485, that line is there for cases were the person may have a number like a K-1 visa holder.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.
