We had our AOS interview today morning..

Our case has been approved..:-)

But after coming out of the office I realized that I left my EAD card at the desk.

Do they retain the EAD card at the interview or did I leave it there by mistake?

I have been applying in jobs and would need that till I do not have my greencard in hand..

Thanks in advance to all of you who help me with some suggestions.

If you were approved you may have an I-551 stamp in passport, the I-551 stamp = green-card, and green-card replaces the EAD card. Many interviewing officers will keep EAD, AP, and I-94 cards upon AOS approval because all of these are not needed by green-card (I-551) holders.

They did not take my husbands EAD at interview. They said that the AP is invalid from the date of the interview (approval). So do not to travel between interview approval & the time you receive your GC (unless you had the I-551 stamp).

Thanks to all of you for the info..

Well, i was verbally informed at the interview that my case is approved.

But these days lot of offices do not stamp the passport so i guess i would have to wait till i don't receive the card.

Only problem is I have been going for interviews and I am asked to present my legal work permit in most places...

Anyways atleast I know that I did'nt lose the card but my interviewing officer retained it..

So lets keep my fingers crossed and hope that the welcome letter and then the card reaches us really sooooon!!!

Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all!!
