So, what do I need for my state ID???

I know I need the passport with my I-94...

but what else??

Do I need at least one bill in my name?

Anything else??

I would think either one primary OR two secondaries PLUS residency proof.

What bank do you go to? Don had Wachovia and they had no problems adding me as a joint account owner - nice since this will help my own credit. I don't even think they asked me for id? They also said, c'mon in after the wedding and we'll get everything updated with the new name even.

We deal with Wachovia for our day to day banking and they have been good!! Of course it depends which branch I went into! I did most of my Wachovia banking by the when near courthouse (wendys next door) and they were excellent. But if I went to others they were a bit clueless,especially when it came to depositing Cdn cheques!!! The bank manager at the time was excellent. His wife was from Europe so he was up to date when it came ti international matters, but I do believe he has moved on.

Ditto - our WAMU account was opened without me having to have a SSN - once I had it I told them. No problem.

My local Credit Union had no problem adding Kristy to my account, but Chase couldn't figure out how. Now that she has her DL and SSN it shouldn't be a problem, we just haven't made it in to the bank again.

However, looking at the residency proof for VA, Liz, it looks like you or any other K1 visa holder would have a tough time fulfilling it. In Michigan, we brought a certified copy of the marriage certificate, along with her Ontario DL, Canadian passport, and my water/sewer bill. The marriage certificate was enough to link Kristy to me so that my water bill is her water bill.

I forgot to mention that Wachovia added me wihtout a SSN with no difficulties. Same went for school!
