Hello everybody!

I just found that there was an "introduce yourself" topic! It's never too late...

I am French and I met my fiance a little more than two years ago when I was an exchange student in St. Louis, Missouri. We started dating a month before I had to leave. That's when I returned to France that we realized how important our feelings had become. I came back over there as a tourist last summer (for only a month) and this year he came to my country for a year and half ago :) We had started talking about marriage a while before, but he "officially" proposed while he was here.

Now he's gone and we can't wait until we are back together (but I am sure half of the people on this forum have known that feeling).

First we wanted me to go back to the States on a J-1 visa. I actually found a company willing to hire me. But it seemed that the process to get married (well... to adjust my status after getting married there) would not have been easier than just going through the K-1, even though I would not have the "2 year home residency requirement".

So, we decided to start filing for a K-1 visa. We are still gathering all the documents, but we should send it quite soon.

I just want to thank everybody on that website because there are so many useful information here!
