Hello to the forum,

I am hoping you guys can offer guidance! I talked to the DOS this morning and they confirmed that our file is 'loaded' at the embassy but not yet 'open'. Apparently that means that the file was shipped by the NVC to london on 12/12 and they have entered the electronic file into their system at the embassy, and while they have the paperwork, they have not entered the physical paperwork into the system. So they do have our case # in the system at the embassy, but the lady at the DOS said that they would not send off Packet 3 until they entered the physical paperwork into the system, which she thought would happen by the end of the week. I am guessing that we will be fully entered into the system by tomorrow or thurs at the latest. We have packet 3 all ready to go (thanks to VJ!!!!) and we are desparately trying to get an interview in time for our Feb 16th wedding. anyone done this already?? can we go ahead and post off the packet 3 tomorrow knowing that the electronic file is there and the rest will be done this week? They do have the case number to match up the paperwork so it seems okay. I really want to have it received at the embassy by Christmas, so we can relax, know that we have done all we can and hope for the best. any advice?? thanks in advance

Sara

Im pretty sure you can. It might be a bit risky though, with the christmas period on us...possibility that the embassy receives your packet 3 details before you are even properly on their systems...could lead to some "lost papers". Just my thoughts on it though, cant say im an expert!

Personally, i would send it back 26th or 27th. It is likely going to be processed just as fast if you send it then or now anyway i would imagine.

Good luck!
