Hello there,

Sorry for beeing late, but I was in shock. We had our interview on 13 of December, we had to wait outside for about 45 min, then i was called at the immigration counter, the person there asked for the documents and all was fine til it comes to the copies of the divorce decrees for me and my husband. I had a short form of divorce decree stating the date of the divorce, the register and the place where it is. As this was what I have sent it to the USCIS i thought it was alright, but it wasn't. My husband did not sent the right part of his divorce decree, and therefore the package stays at the embassy til the missed documents will get to them. I was told to go back and sit down, I was called to another counter, the CO asked me : you want to join your spouse in the USA, right? I answered yes. How did you met? then :When do you pland to go? I answered: in February 08. I was taken the 10 finger prints, then i was told to go back and sit down and that they are going to hold the package til they receive the missing documents. I was called again to the first counter and been asked if am planning to travel with the passports the next 2 or 3 weeks, i answered No. Then the man told me once you send us these documents we will send you the passports with the visa. My husband faxed to them the whole divorce decree and I still waiting for mine to arrive by mail from the city where I was living and got divorced 15 years ago. At soon I will get them I will send it and then I will be waiting for the visa. I have never thought of that.

I can not believe that. I got a letter today saying that under 212 g they are not able to issue the visa until the missing documents will arrive to them.

I called today and he insured me that once they will have all the papers they will issue the visa and I will still able to join my husband in February 08.

Regards and Good luck to you

Urge, thank you I hope that too, because I still have to do alot of things here, before I leave, I have to coordinate alot of things, job, flat, regular bills and making a perfect timing between the day I leave my job, the flat and fly to join my husband. Thinking about that all the time and I am stressing alot about that.

Good luck to you again,

Andrea

We had a similar issue at our interview, and once the Embassy had everything they needed, we were instructed to send in the passport through DHL. They sent it back with the K-3 visa in 2 days.

Don't worry too much...just a little formality and then everything should be ok.

Just wanted to add that it's not as dire as it seems. They tend be good about returning quickly once you've sent in the right bits of paper. Good luck with finishing everything up for the move! We're currently in the midst of the same thing for a move to Michigan at the end of January. :)
