Howdy Everyone,

Yai just had her AOS interview here in Miami.First off do not park in any of the parking lots that the people with the orange flags are directing you to they are not offical, there are none that are!!!They will not tell you the real price or will tell you a low price to get you to park in there lot and when you try to leave the lot guess what?Or you have to pay up front and then guees what the person you paid is not there when you come to collect your car.Just south of the building on US1 Biscayn Blvd make a left on 76 or 75 Street go one block and park on 6th CT between 76 and 75 street or in that area for free.It is only a short 5 minute walk to the building.Enter the building on 79th street. No camera cell phones a plain cell is OK but you have to turn it off,so leave it in the car anyway. No liquid bottels either and they do not even have any water fountains that we could find,so do not get thirsty. Now the rest.Enter building go thru metal detector pass stuff thru X-ray quick and easy, very proffessional.Pretty much as if you where getting on a plane but more strict. Was told to go to 2nd floor after guard looked at ID's an I-797.2nd floor guard looks at I-797 again tells you where to go and place I-797 in bin on desk.An employee took I-797 at desk in waiting room.Sit and wait for your name to be called. We where 45 minutes early for our appointment, being that is when we begain entry to the building. We got called about 10 minutes after the appointment time.I say about because I or Yai do not carry a time piece, time is irrelevant unless you have to be somewere at some certain time, but peaking at someone elses it looked to be about 10 after the hour.Very nice and cordial officer greeted us.Entered her office was given the oath and sat down to be grilled.Asked for ID's Yai's passport and such. She asked all of the ? on the AOS application to Yai again placing a red check mark next to each of the no answers. Also asked all ? about her birth date, name, address, phone # in other words everything that was writen on the origanal AOS application.I am assuming just to verifiy that she is who she said she is.Asked how we met (internet)Was very interested with how we communicated in the begining being that my wife tobe did not speak very good english.I had done all of the paper work because it is in english and forgot to have Yai study it before we went to the interview. We had gone over it when I did it to make sure that it was accurate but that was 11 months ago. This is something I would tell everyone to do!She asked to see anything that we had to show that we had a "real" marriage.Well we had our 7 week old baby with us!!!We showed papers of 2 joint bank accounts, recorded deed of our home, credit cards, health ins.cards and some photos of us and my teenage son with our new baby and photos from X-Mas with my mom dad and bro and sis.I realy do not have alot of photos. Now the ending.Well she said that she is waiting on clerance and the K-1 visa information from the POE I guees that means whatever was in the "brown envelope"it did not look like she had anything on her desk other then the stuff that we had sent with the AOS application. She said that she has as of yet not received it.When she does she will make the decision then..............................She did go on to tell us about what we will need to do 90days before 2 years from now to remove status. If I remember that correctly. We took that to mean that Yai is approved when the clerance and other paper work makes it to the officer.I understand that she can not say " yes you are approved when I get the info"that would be something not proper to do so at this point,so we have to say HURRY UP AND WAIT.Our experiance with immagration in Miami, I would say is very professional from entering the building to the interviewer and interview.Good luck to eveyone in the future :D

That's exactly what happened to me at my AOS interview. It didn't take very long to hear back from them with the approval. :)

Best wishes and congratulations on the good interview. :)

Not too bad. Congrats - yes you are right once she gets the docs you will get an email saying you are approved (it took us 8 weeks for ours.) I did go over the AOS application with my wife the day before the interview, so she was familiar with it. That's a good point.
