Case forwarded to Washington DC office???

I got an email from CRIS this morning:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST

STATUS

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was

transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be

notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.

If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool

to update your case with your new address. We process cases in the order we receive

them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done,

counting from when USCIS received it. Follow the link below to check processing

I believe this is just a standard message that the office got the application, and I've seen here on VJ that other people have gotten this message when their apps were sent over to CSC.

I was just about to send the same thing! Yes, a friend of mine got it yesterday as well. Their case transferred to CSC.

So hopefully this is a good thing =)

The local offices for us on this thread are:

AES41 is in Albuquerque, NM

Beppyz is in Atlanta, GA

Bora Bora mentioned someone in Iowa

Kati-Johanna is in Boston, MA

I'm in Charlotte, NC

There's no geographical trend there, and all of us have local offices much closer to us.

Just wanted to push this thread up once more.

I'm currently out of the country and will be allowed to try out my dual-copy AP upon my return to the US of A.

There have been 4 touches on the I-485 in the last seven days, since it was received in Washington.

I have to complement the US bureaus overall, I've been pretty impressed with the efficiency of the USCIS, SSA and State Department in processing and issuing my I-129F, K-1, SS Card, EAD card and AP papers.

I also heard from an American who applied the regular way for a passport(not via expedited service or one of those accelerated processing third parties) and got it back in the mail 8 days after applying. And this was the first passport he's ever held.

That's absolutely not bad for such a large country.

i hope we're right behind. i just checked the status and received the same email you got previously that said that your case was "being processed at the center it was transfered to." i'm a little confused though. did you ever have an interview with your spouse? did you apply originally for a K1 visa? what is the name of the card & what benefits does it carry?

We were approved on Feb 5th! the letter just came in yesterday's mail saying that the Permanent Resident card would be arriving within 3 weeks!
