Obama Publicly Attends Church In Iowa To Quell Muslim Rumors

Practicing rumor control led Barak Obama to a church pew in Iowa where he was also able to woo some voters. The presidential candidate attended First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mason City on Sunday where he has been campaigning.

Obama has been a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago for the past two decades but with a middle name of Hussein and a Muslim father rumors have swirled that the Democratic candidate for president is a Muslim and therefore a threat to America's security, the Associated Press reports.

To combat those rumors, the candidate attended church with reporters in tow at the 10 a.m. services that included a presentation by the Sunday School members.

According to the Associated Press, the candidate frequently attends church services on the campaign trail, but usually does not invite reporters along. In addition, the candidate also frequently peppers campaign speeches with religious references and talks about his personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

When it comes to faith, I think a man ought to be taken at his word. If he says he has a personal relationship with Jesus, I accept that he thinks he does.

Well, I would accept that if he told me personally. But I don't think anyone would try to run for president as a non-religious person. Especially if you're already Black and have a Muslim middle name.

He kinda has to, doesn't he? With all of the spin about him being Muslim going around, he needs as much Xian face time as possible to try to dispel the rumours. Wouldn't surprise me if the rumours were started by Billary, not the Republicans.
