And while we are talking about food, why is produce so dang expensive? In Canada, all the produce I bought always said "product of USA", so I assumed it would cheaper here, but oh no, that would just make sense wouldn't it?

That's a very good question. When Lindsay told me she could get pomegranates in Kitimat for $2, I was floored. Kitimat...the end of the world.....cheaper....it makes no sense.

I have been buying pomegrantes here in CT for $2.00 each since Oct :)

I'm lucky to find them for less than $4 here. I really don't get it.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

In a modest town where honest people dwell

--October 10-----Completed address change online

--January 25-----NOA2 received via USCIS Case Status Online

Most food here in CT is 20-30% higher than everywhere else in the US.. so it surprises me we have something CHEAP here :P

Strange, I don't think I've ever tasted the difference. They both taste the same to me. I used to know someone though that worked at the Heniz factory in Windsor testing mold samples for the ketchup. Some of the stories make me glad I don't get the Canadian version here...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

I like Heinz Ketchup on my Hebrew National dogs. ^_^ My Mom gets irate if anyone uses ketchup, and even goes so far as to hand the ketchup back to the server if they dare have the audacity to put it on the table without asking. (See.... I told you that you were my Mother's daughter, Len. ;) I think it was the Charm & Self Improvement school conversation, wasn't it? ) But the ketchup on the eggs made me throw up a little in my mouth. :dead:

Canadian catsup is sweeter. They add sugar to it. I like the taste.

Canadian and American oreos are different. There's a few other things that we taste tested last summer-including beers so can't remember what other food types products are the same but different. Kokanee does seem to be exactly the same product reguardless of which side of the border it's sold on.

I (the USC) hate HFCS. humans perceive fructose as sweeter than glucose so they don't have to use as much to make food equally sweet. However, some of us can taste fructose and it ruins everything.

met summer 1999, summer 2000 hooked up-whoo hoo summer fling

summer fling failed to fizzle, married 2003

I-130 mailed 12/15/03

4/1/04 no word from NE contacted senators office, app found

12/4/04 submitted app

LSS app returned because of missed signatures, lost in transit, resubmitted in June

9/28/05 landed, yippie

10/4/05 fly back to US to "finish up Master's" lose mind and switch to PhD

Damn it back to the US process

3/something/2005 finally get NOA2, no idea why it took so long

4/15/07 get case approval from NVC

8/9/07 Montreal here we come

10/14/07 hubby activated his visa
