haha... I've noticed there are quite a few things here that taste a little different than the Canadian versions.

Such as....

Doritos - saltier in US

Kit-Kat's - more sweet in US

Kraft Dinner (the US version tastes really artificial. Yes, even more so than the Canadian version!)

Cheese - all cheese here tastes like cheese whiz

hmmm... that's all I can think of right now. And the US packaging is also different on a lot of the same items we have in Canada. So weird.

My fiance always looks at me weird when I tell him that something doesn't taste like it does in Canada. He thinks I'm making it up haha.

And while we are talking about food, why is produce so dang expensive? In Canada, all the produce I bought always said "product of USA", so I assumed it would cheaper here, but oh no, that would just make sense wouldn't it?

I was reading cbc.ca one day and they actually said that Mr. Harper had the bright idea of putting HFCS in all CDN foods so manufacturers wouldn't have to make 2 different products for CDN & US customers and thus keep the price of manufacturing down. I can't find the article again but I remember thinking.. the little #######.. I'm going to be very mad if he does that!!!

Yep. Also, Nathan's hot dogs are pretty good, too. Honestly, I don't buy any hot dogs that contain pork. They all taste like bologna.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

That's a very good question. When Lindsay told me she could get pomegranates in Kitimat for $2, I was floored. Kitimat...the end of the world.....cheaper....it makes no sense.
