Pimento cream cheese sounds divine! I love bagels, I don't even care where they come from, MTL, Denver, Chicago or Calgary...ahhh bagels :)

Yeah? Well you won't like them here from the grocery store. They're just bagel-shaped bread here. Seriously.

So then we could seriously open a bagel shop!! woot woot!!

We went to TCBY tonight- I got the fat free sugar free caramel fudge (the flavors change often) OMG it is so good!! I don't think they have TCBY in Canada so that is definitely a point for USA. :)

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but for those Canadians looking for a reasonable alternative to the US Heinz version, try Trader Joe's Organic Ketchup (about $1.69).

From someone's blog...

Pass the Ketchup, Please...

...but not the Heinz! I have found a ketchup that tastes like the ketchup I remember as a child. The other day I bought a bottle of Trader Joe's organic ketchup, and I will never buy Heinz again! I have a half-full bottle of the stuff in my fridge, but I doubt I'll use it up...

First of all, although I know this doesn't always guarantee a better product, Trader Joe's ketchup is organic. Secondly, just compare the ingredients:

Trader Joes:

Organic tomato puree, organic sugar, salt, organic white vinegar, organic onion powder, organic spices.

Heinz:

Tomato concentrate made from red ripe tomatoes, distilled vinegar, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup*, salt, spice, onion powder, natural flavoring.

It's the high fructose corn syrup!! I've noticed that ingredient in a lot of U.S. products that are not in the same Canadian version or in hardly any Canadian products.

Stacey - They have TCBY in Canada, at least in Ontario they do, but I think it's relatively new.

I know I'm kinda late to the game on this post, but there aren't that many things in Canada that I mind leaving behind.

I LOVE grocery stores in the U.S. - they have so much MORE stuff, different things I've never seen before.

I also really like the yogurt in the U.S. better. There's just more variety and better fat free options!!

Sent package to VSC - 8/12/11

Maybe, best to get that popcorn back out,lol Time for bed!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
