Hi Guys,

Our case was just completed at NVC too. Looks like NVC's starting to get their stuff together now!

Sooooo, what happens after the case is completed at NVC? My understanding is that 1) there's a bit of a waiting game until the embassy receives and looks over the file, 2) We go in for a medical exam 3) show up at the interview - am I correct? Is there any other paper work or "adminy" stuff to take care of from this point on?

Also, what's Packet 3 and 4? Are there documents that I can gather for these packets beforehand? If so, what are they?

I'll be checking this week if an interview has been set yet too... best of luck to all of us VJer's

P.S. Much luv to James for his shortcuts... really made a big difference for us in getting our case completed as soon as it did!

Cheers

Shaleema :D

Hi Shaleema, NVC sends the completed case to appropriate Embassy/Consulate and the latter will schdule your interview. Please check with someone who went through with same Embassy/Consulate, that way, you can come to know what they require you in packet 3 and 4.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Actually no, Montreal is an appointment post. NVC will schedule your interview with Montreal.
