Going back for Christmas

Hi All

I know this has been asked / answered a lot in various different places on the forum, but thought I would ask anyway in the hopes of some specifics

I'm going back to the US this week for Christmas and new years with the wife (we both live here) and I have been back once since we got married (work conference) whilst she was living here in the UK

I'm a bit worried as to the exact specifics of evidence that I should bring, I recently paid off a lot of my debts and am worried that bills like a credit card/bank statement will do the opposite of proofing ties being they were all recently paid off!

I do have plenty of other 'bills' that arrive, not sure if they will be as much proof, and my savings account will have a fair bit of cash in it, hoping that might

What do you take with you? We are in the process of waiting for our I-130 to be accepted so very early in the process, but want to cover my basis save being sent home (I always get paranoid at immigration but have been traveling to and from the US for about 10 years now and have never overstayed, so heres hoping thats a plus!)

Things i was thinking

Proof of employment (what counts as proof? a signed letter from the boss? my employment contract? seems rather superficial)

Bank statements (see worry above)

Mobile phone bill/Contract? again not sure what that would do

I rent off my dad so dont have an official rent agreement, perhaps I could get a signed letter too? he's just my step dad so it would be hard to make the connection due to last names being different etc)

Excuse my paranoia all, but hope I can get a little advise :)

Cheers

The return tickets and the fact that you have a UK address and job. When asked the purpose of the visit just say vacation, which it is, and let them ask more if they want to. They will probably see I-130 application in their system and that in itself tells them you are doing things correctly.

Mostly they might ask you a few questions about your circumstances in the UK. Take something official (bank statement) that has you address and your employment contract I doubt they will ask for either but have them just in case.
