Hello everyone!

I'm back on the waiting game again. :crying: .and I thought I was over with that after the interview. I didn't expect that I'd be put on AR. It's been more than a month already since my interview and I was told I'm approved by the officer. Since then, I had to go back to USEM for second finger scan, went back to borrow my passport so I could travel with my fiancé..then that time the guy who was going to release my passport said that he had good news. They had to verify if I overstayed with my student visa 3 years ago but I didn't. He asked if I was sure I wanted to borrow the passport coz the visa was ready to be issued by I insisted on borrowing it and the consul approved. After my vacation, I mailed my passport back to the embassy and expected that everything will run smoothly from there. But I guess luck is not really on my side, when I called the other day to follow up on my case, Grace told me that they need my previous passport dated 2003. So i mailed it right away coz I was issued a tourist visa that year which I didn't use and just expired after 1 year. Today, I made another call. Grace told me they received the passport and I should give them time and call back by end of december. What the hell?!?! I already made a booking to fly on January 8th and be with my love but seems like I can't make it on time. Good thing I didn't pay for the ticket yet. She said a lot of the officers will be on holiday leave by next week. This is a terrible nightmare for us..causing lots of stress on my part. I'm trying to stay positive and not worry so much but I've never heard of anyone going through this trouble at the embassy before. It seems like my case is being referred to another officer (Grace said that's how it is when the officer handling the case goes on leave), that's why they are asking for another document - my old passport and before I was told that everything was fine, visa was ready to be issued. Grace even told me that there's no assurance I'm approved yet. I said what?? I was told during the interview that I'm approved! They are giving me lots of headache here. I can't have a nice and peaceful christmas anymore. I can't wait to be with my fiancé and now I don't have a choice except to be patient once again and WAIT.

I hope nobody else has to go through this nightmare at USEM. It's a horrible experience. Not to mention I spent so much money already going to Manila and sending my passports. Please pray for my case hopefully I'll get some good news by the next time. I need all your support and encouragement. I'm happy though that most of my batch mates during the interview are already in the US with their SOs. I wish I can be with mine very soon too.

hi DZ..

im sorry to hear the bad news..

honestly for the past month, i'm not here in VJ in daily basis like before. So when I saw this post, i'm really shocked that you're still in the process with USE. My case was sent 4 days ahead with yours, so i pressumed that you're done with that (the same with some of our batchmates..)

anyway..from what ive seen on your post, you're only big problem is TIME DELAY..since you clearly mentioned there that those background checks they need to undergo are negative on your side. Its just so happen your timing is during holidays & your case needs to transfer to another CO..In short, another thorough review..

So i feel that you'll be fine..its really just time delay.

I dont know if this will work, but im thinking maybe it will help if you're fiance will coordinate with USE. Let the USCitizen Petitioner call the USE & inform them you already made travel & wedding plans since you were informed that your case is good (before it was transfer to another CO). In such case, USE "might" consider a quicker review in reference to your jan.8 target travel date.

But if you're willing to wait, then it's fine. Dont worry too much & ruin your holidays ..you're almost there DZ..

goodluck..

Hello deezee , i never been visited the site lately i just got here in the states last dec 12 . kinda busy making up for the lost time. I was shocked when i read this post of u , But i agree with one message here for u that ur fiance might want to try to contact the USEM to ask why and verified all , sometime they give priority if the call is from the USA. I will pray for u that u will be here in January anyway dont let this thing ruin ur holidays there , they are right eat all the food there that u can eat here. Goodluck .

 im wondering too why you coudn't just wait for the visa and your passport in hand and just delayed the trip.

I guess that now you wish that you had left your passport with the Embassy and delayed the trip.

I know I took a risk but I didn't regret borrowing my passport then. Everything was set for our vacation with my fiancé and meet some of his relatives in HK. If I didn't go, I would never see them again and I couldn't delay the trip anymore. :( I guess family is very important too and I wasn't expecting for this to happen after I return my passport anyway. Sigh..

Thanks alexandra. I guess I didn't have the perfect timing with USEM and I'm not one of the lucky ones. I'll ask my fiancé to call this week and I hope they will treat him better. Waiting is not such a bad thing for me coz I've already waited for many months in this process anyway. I really have to be patient and keep the faith during this tough time. Enjoy the holidays there!
