Hello!

So my dad told us he wants to give us a bedroom set as a present. He lives in Vzla and he doesn't have much time to get on internet. He asked me to choose whatever we wanted and buy it online using his card info. So we did... We chose an IKEA set and bought it last night.

The thing is that he wanted me to put his name and e-mail on the billing info (for government currency control stuff). I did, but there was no way to put his address (Vzla was not a menu option). Now my husband tells me that the order might have not come through because our address is not set for Dad's card. There's no way for us to get an email from IKEA because they don't have our email addresses... and Dad won't pick the phone or cell!!!!!!!!!

What do you think will happen?????????????? (drums)

Its likely they will cancel the order, unless you can show them its not fraudulent.

As pointed out above, your best bet is to give IKEA a call, they can tell you if the order went through and if it didn't they might be willing to fix it for you over the phone.

U.S. CITIZEN SINCE MAY 8TH 2008

NATURALIZATION

28th july 2007 - N-400 mailed to VSC

(exactly on the 90th day mark...applications NOT returned although some scared me into thinking they could have!)

30th july 2007 - N-400 delivered to VSC

11th august 2007 - Delivery Confirmation receipt received

17th september 2007 - Money Order (FINALLY!) cashed

9th november 2007 - NOA! (notification period given 180 days)

21th november 2007 - Biometrics appointment letter

18th december 2007 - Biometrics appointment in Baltimore, MD completed

29th march 2008 - FINALLY received letter with interview date!

8th may 2008 H 8:40 AM - Interview in Baltimore-APPROVED!

8th may 2008 H 3:00 pm (yes same day, crazy!) Oath Ceremony in Baltimore

24th may 2008 - US Passport application mailed off

6th june 2008 - US Passport received in the mail!!!

I had a helluva time with things like this when I was living in the UK. Many UK stores online would not have a field for a US address, and then there are others that wouldn't ship to anywhere other than the billing addy. So I'd have to use D's cards :devil:

A couple of places that wound up taking the orders online wound up canceling them after the fact. So keep calling IKEA to see what they say! If you can't do that, have your father open up a paypal acct and then just transfer the $$$ directly to your acct.

A simple phone call with the order number would take care of the issue, along with an explaination of the situation.

Using a CC from Venezuela and only putting a US address is shady. I know a guy in Nigeria that can sort this whole thing out. BRB.

It had nothing to do with the address after all... after 100000000000etc calls, they talked to me. They had miscalculated the order, so they wanted to start it all over again. There wasn't anything shady, for the record. Everything legal... I'm too coward to do illegal stuff, unfortunately :blush:
