i'm not sure what to do i hope someone here has an answer.

i resently requested copies of a cenomar for my fiance from ecensus. to be prepared for her up coming interview (no interview date yet..recieved noa2 on nov.28..trying to get things ready early) i just checked the status online & it says a cemar-(At least one marriage certificate was found for the person requested. A certificate of marriage will be sent to you.) this is incorrect she has never been married or engaged. i sent ecensus an email. has this ever happened to anyone here? what do we do?

For all I know, census couldn't be wrong on the info you're requesting, r u sure that ur fiance really haven't married before? I heard from one travel agency that that's the same case to the girl they're helping, she got married when she was 16 but she kept that truth from her fiance cuz she thought it couldn't be a valid marriage since she was underage then but it was, cuz it was registered and entered the NSO system.. Am not jumping into conclusion that ur girl married before, better u checked the info u gave the NSO, make sure u supply them her REAL COMPLETE NAME, date of birth, place of bith and parents name.. any info that will come out from that information u give them is the 100% truth cuz it means something happened before that's why they have a record.

(the result u got could be wrong only if u gave them the wrong biographic info of your fiance)

I've never heard of anyone having this problem and it was an actual error. Once you receive the CEMAR you can check for dates of the alleged marriage and hopefully it will be a date that is impossible due to her age at that time. Once you find the error, I would think it would take a visit to an NSO office or write to them here:

National Statistics Office

Civil Registration Department

Vibal Building, EDSA

Quezon City

Philippines

The only other option I would know would be to contact a lawyer in the Philippines who specializes in family law. Good Luck.

dunno what happened yet. i just talk to my SO, she assured me she had never been married or engaged. (i already knew that, i've known her sister here in the US for a few years. there is no reason for any stories here) i checked the form i filled out on ecensus (printed it before i clicked submit). we'll just have to wait for the cert.(s) to arrive. the only thing i can think of is a keystoke error on the NSOs part. i ordered a few copies of her birth cert. a few weeks ago...no problems.

talked to a guy (filipino) from the gym i go to, the other day & he warned me. "my sister had to clear up a few things w/ the nso to get her visa to work outside the philippines. they already showed her as being out of the country on a different visa. they do give out bad info from time to time."

NSO could never be wrong unless you supplied them wrong informations about your fiancee. i suggest once the CEMAR is delivered to you, you also get a copy of the marriage contract as stated in the CEMAR to check the details whether it is really your fiancee who previously contracted marriage or not. please dont ge wrong. no offence meant to your fiancee.

i'm pretty certain the mix-up about being out of the country had nothing to do with the NSO as they dont keep records of visa issuances or anything related to travel. The NSO is a repository of all civil registries in the Philippines, hence, all they have are records of birth, marriages and death.

As to your CEMAR problem, i agree with prettyfacenbody, you should get a copy of the CEMAR and scrutinize all the details thereon, and if everything checks out as you know it to be, might as well get a copy of the Marriage Certificate, from there you can well verify if the person referred therein is really your fiancee or an entirey different person, as the marriage certificate contain more detailed information of the contracting parties vs. the CEMAR.

Goodluck! i hope you can settle this issue soon enough.

i resently requested copies of a cenomar for my fiance from ecensus. to be prepared for her up coming interview (no interview date yet..recieved noa2 on nov.28..trying to get things ready early) i just checked the status online & it says a cemar-(At least one marriage certificate was found for the person requested. A certificate of marriage will be sent to you.) this is incorrect she has never been married or engaged. i sent ecensus an email. has this ever happened to anyone here? what do we do?

There are lot of people who got hit everytime in NBI because of the same names, but i don't think the NSO will be wrong because you supplied the birth date and parents name, theres no two children born to the same parents with the same name at the same time. I guess you have to deal with this at NSO personally. Its possible that your fiancee is a victim of identity theft, someone stole her birth certificate and use it for marriage.

If there are errors or a situation that spidergirl suggests, hopefully you'll be able to have it corrected since the Embassy will have the same info from NSO. best of luck

yah, we're pretty sure thats what has happened-id theft. i got the sister of my SO involved this morning..(she's got a few connections...went to school w/ & is still friends w/ the several local barangay captains & the mayor of the her town). apparently there has been some id theft for the purpose of (multiple) marrage in the philippines resently. they are in the process of putting all the evidence she will need to clear this up-(statements from barangay captians, local police, the local church, local census officers. stating she has never been married or lived anywhere but in her village.) they (the friends of my future sister in law) tell her it is becoming more common & that the papers they are preparing, along w/ a visit a NSO office should clear this up....hope so...& i'm already bracing for whatever happens w/ NBI...i'm looking at this as a good thing-(at least we found out in time to fix everything) got my fingers crossed & i'll post back to keep you up to date.

Yep this happen to Me and Heidy. She has a sister with the same name. Her sister is married. Heidy was able to correct that on the spot at the local NSO. I suggest that you loved one go to the local NSO office request the form again in person.
