They are returning packages delivered to the Chicago Lockbox as unknown, TSC is returning I-130s + I-129Fs after 6 weeks to applications with 'you filed to wrong location letters'....

I don't understand how it could get this bad. The individual locations have not one clue what they are doing.

Right now, I would just like to know that they have received my package and after waiting 6 weeks for this, I would just cry if they returned it too.

Where the F*$% is my application???

Deelicia, denial is policy for the US govt. So in fact, you didn't send anything. I know from personal experience that I sent four affidavits to the NVC and only one got through. There's been a credibilty gap in these affairs for so long that it's de rigeur. I know this doesn't make you feel any better but I'm just trying to brace you for what might happen. Maybe it's the pollyanna in me but I think that they are probably going to update your file soon, it's just been delayed with the Christmas slowdown. Hold you head up!!!!:thumbs:

I am still watching the August filers and since they are 2 months ahead of me and still waiting for word one. Unless your definition of 'soon' is within the next 6 months to 1 year, I think you are wrong.

Oh well, per the USCIS site, I can call after I the application hits the 90 day mark and that is the end of January. I am sure that the call will be futile, but I will bang my head against that wall when I come to it. I just want confirmation that they actually received the application at this point and a case number. Right now, not even God knows where my file is and I feel it is just weeks of wasted time and I won't even know they lost it or never 'acknowledged' receiving it for weeks more...

I requested an FOIA from USCIS two years ago and they're still processing it so I try my best to look on the bright side. You only need to wait until January and then you can tear them a new one. Don't ever let them get to you. I'm a bit OC so if it was me, I'd phone frequently and wouldn't stop buggin' them. January be damned, you want the answer NOW!!!!!!

Well, I feel a bit better. I fired off emails to both my Senators (one is currently in the Pres Campaign) and my Congressman. I also emailed every single Presidential candidate asking for 'legal' immigration reform and improvements. As for my representatives, I will email them every 2 weeks or so and keep on them. This is why it's good to be a registered voter: You can harass your representatives (not that it does much good) and remind them that you do in fact vote and do have a memory.

*copy & paste is a wonderful thing*

Bonjour Delicia et al,

I do not think I want to read it, although reading your excerpts were good.

Thanks for posting more about the circus.

Perhaps we can have a fundraiser and collect enough to send them all medals for work well done?

Do you think they would accept them?

(in good conscious)

Bahaha!!!!!

My wonderful husband requested that I refrain from checking on anything immigration related since there is really nothing we can do. He has figured out that I get most upset over the weekend when the new USCIS updates are posted. He is coming to visit me right after Christmas and staying for a week( CBP permitting). There is no need to be all crabby and full of despair at this whole process. All we both can do is use that time efficiently and bank tons of cash. My husband has applied for a nexus pass because I think he will be coming here often over the next decade while we are in process (tongue firmly implanted in cheek). I am hoping that since he is not entered into the USCIS black hole yet, might as well get the pass now and hopefully spare some CBP ####### in the future (I do realized that they have to pull out a certain percentage of pass users to talk to/screen). Since he is self employed, his schedule is more flexible and it is easier for him to visit me than for me to go there.

Mi esposo is spending free time making up blue prints for our house that we want to build so he has been sending me his drafts, which look very cool btw, and I add information (if we go open concept, should we be soundproofing? why not french doors to the deck in the kitchen instead of a slider? etc) While I work on the esthetics he works on the structural soundness and it is very fun.

I also have a horribly complicated new job and the backstabbing and manipulation that goes on behind the scenes is completely unbelievable. I am so not prepared for that kind of ####### and I feel it is completely unnecessary in a professional environment. Not to mention, I have a staff that is unmotivated and under trained (yes, I am inheriting a mess). Maybe this western U.S. work mentality is just different from the midwest where I grew up, I don't know.. but regardless, I have a lot of things to figure out for my own self preservation at work. My weakness at work (other than having a boss that decides I am good goat to ###### at for things completely outside of my authority) is the technical side. I work solely on one client, which is one of the largest corps in the U.S. and a a top contender internationally and their data is far from perfect. I have 3 months more months before I completely take over the reins of this job from my predecessor and I need to focus and avoid unnecessary distraction, which I am so prone to doing when it comes to immigration.

I promised before I wouldn't look at immigration propagana until January before, but then I got the USCIS newsletter in my email and it was so... so... blantantly full of s*&^ that I couldn't resist getting back into the mix. But now, for the preservation of my very last thread of sanity, I have to skip all the ####### and only deal with info I receive directly from the Feds.

I will keep you posted if I receive any kind of actual word from USCIS or my Congressmen or the Presidential Candiates or the Chilean Embassy that I have recently contacted. But, I highly doubt I will get anything from any of them.

Your husband's right, Delicia! Refrain from reading the propaganda! Besides.... house designs are much more interesting to discuss! :lol:I vote for the french doors in the kitchen if you can spare the room!

I gave up trying to let those sh*tters ruin my life. I'd rather think about shutters. French doors (freedom doors? ) in AZ, can't think of a more appropriate place. I would think those geodesic domes would be cool in Arizona and I love those open southwest style haciendas, the ones with the outdoor sinks and the shaded lounging area.

If it makes you feel any better, my congressman looked into our case within TWO DAYS of receipt of my request and I had a response in under 1 week. Call and/or send them the form that allows them to look into your case (can't remember the name) and you may be pleasantly surprised.

As for the government... I think it's high time we begin playing the same games with them. Sadly 95% of the US has never felt the effects of the poor management. But us 5% get all of the BS. Hrmmmmm. I guess if it was THAT broken things would change. Or we've become idiots.

What a horrible mess this has left your immigration process in Delicia. Looking at house plans seems to be a better process to put your energy in...and less overwhelming.

Hugs,
