Waiting for the Interview Date

Hi,

We sent our Package 3 to the London Embassy on 12/3 and have heard nothing from them yet in regards to an interview date. I have called the Dept of State every couple days and still no date set. Anyone else having this long of a wait just to recieve the interview date from the London Embassy?

Everything was received on the 10th Dec for me and we have only phoned DOS once. I'm aiming to phone again around the middle of this week (if I haven't heard anything before then).

Well I called the DOS again this morning, and they said as of today he is elligible because they have all the paperwork and his case has been reviewed...which means she said, that we should not even get the interview date sent to us till one month and the date should be 2 months out! I can't believe how long they take! I am so dissapointed!

I'm not sure if they over estimate the dates. There was someone in the UK forum recently who received an interview date just over a week from the embassy receiving all the paperwork back, and the interview date itself was only 5 weeks in the future.

I specified on mine that my travel date is the 20th Feb, as I have the "return part" of my last ticket booked for that day (long story short, United Airlines cancelled out my return ticket when I arrived in the States in Sept, so had to book a brand new ticket to get back to the UK and booked the return leg to the US for 20th Feb - a date I would potentially use).

I know they don't have to pull out any stops to get my interview before then, but I know they do try to accomodate where possible. I am still hopeful for an early February interview, but we won't know until they finally decide to schedule it.

Thanks!` I am keeping my hopes up and maybe we will get lucky and get an earlier date....I just know the Embassy shuts down over Christmas week. Good luck to you as well, looks like we submitted around the same time.
