There is a part 2:

Amal-- I get forced into house dabka every day! LOL! I'm like walking by and whoosh! Instant dabka! Now I understand why those other danceers by the front sometimes look like they are handing on for their lives-- they are. And it's crazy to be attached to someone who is dancing like that! :) House dabka is great for exercise. Maybe I should suggest it in the MENA exercise thread? :)

I can ask my Dh what the name of our CD is (or jsut read it when he gets home-- it's in the car.)

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

just awesome! its soo funny..I play a dabka video and no matter what hubster is doing, he will stop and almost stop breathing during the whole video as he sits paralized until it is over (thats if he doesn't hop up and start dabkaing). I just love to do that to him ! lol

As it says.... you should watch :P

You know I have a CD by that singer! i recognize his voice. It even has this song on it, but it's not the exact same music- -more traditional, and obviously not as spontaneous. Ammar says these kids are better than most adults :)

Gah.

If I ever lose my mind, and feel so inclined to embarass the life out of me - lol - man, if you could see me trying to "dance". That was hilarious. Both me - and my wife - LOL! Just shook our heads & put on a funny face when it was time to "dance" :) [ we ... both ... don't know how to dance. XD ]

Yep. It was sad. LOL!

The moral of my story: Stick with someone who matches your own culture.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )
