Has anyone been through the DCF process with the consulate in Barbados? My fiance and I confirmed at 3 a.m. this morning that even though he is a Dutch citizen we need to work with the consulate in Barbados since he currently lives on St. Maarten. I have read that they are non-resident friendly. Just looking for confirmation and peace of mind at this point. Help?!

Yeah, rolltide documented her story very well: http://www.visajourney.com/forums2/index.p...576&hl=Barbados

It's all in the archive now, which you can access from the Search-->Advanced Search-->Search Archive

Be sure to extend the search to 'any date'.

Good luck; she had several very detailed threads in the DCF Forum. :)

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed to see. This whole immigratin thing process has alread stressed me out completely and we haven't really even started yet! We are planning on marrying in Late June or early July. I am certian whatever we are about to go through with the forms and the waits and whatever else comes our way will be well worth it!

Thank you!

In the linked account from rolltide, they say that for DCF in Barbados, the spouse (me) needs to be a citizen of that country. I wont be a citizen, but I will be a resident of Antigua due to work. Any views on whether this would be sufficient?

Thanks

R&B

R&B,

We did our filing in a third country, and citizesnhip was not a requirement. My foreign spouse did need to be legally resident there.

The only ones who can answer your questions are the Consulate staffers in Barbados. Read the DCF Guide before you call or email them & I think you'll get your answer. :)

PS: yes, it seems reasonable to me to expect that they would take your (then) wife's case. It may be more productive for the USC to contact Barbados.

the old forum and archive seem to be no longer available. is there any possibility that someone has access to this post so that it could be re-posted?
