My honey and I have an interview on February 4th. I was wondering which hotel we should stay at near Manila Embassy. Does anyone have some suggestions.... Appreciate any information. :help:

Hello Tanjay,

Did you book a hotel yet?? Being from Manila myself I suggest you search online for hotels that are near the embassy -- doesnt have to be one nearest such as Bayview. There are lots of them along Roxas Boulevard, near the Robinsons Mall, and within the Ermita district (Pedro Gil St., del Pilar, Faura, etc). See which suits your budget and you feel safe to stay in. My fiance stayed in Makati though since I work there. We just took taxis to get to the US embassy which is not very far. Makati is a really safe place to stay in if you are in Metro Manila.

Hope this helps! BTW, I am soooo new to this forum and just learning so much from you guys reading all your posts. I will soon post my timeline. I'm 25, Manila born, and my fiance is 37. :)

Or don't leave anything expensive in the room

ok ok.. Then we should not leave any expensive stuff on the room...

It will still be my pick for the convenience of it.. Plus heard about the good breakfast buffet.. Is it really?

Also plus me and my wife can watch the sunset over @ the Manila Bay...

Off the record..

That Chowking across the Embassy cooks good too.. I don't know maybe we were just so hungry.. Last time we had an interview for our daughter's passport we came @ the embassy 8am and got done @ 3pm..

Oh I am so excited for this interview...

I heard wonderful things about this Hotel also am just wondering if its expensive. How much did you guys pay while per night at the Cherry Blossoms..?? Its about $56 per night at the Bayview Park Hotel and you can even pay over the internet from the US. That's what I did and everything was fine..

What type of hotel do you want to stay in? This one $100 a night but its worth it, and its in walking distance. We were there before and will stay there again in Feb.

We did not stay there yet. We are just thinking it is the best for us. Their prices are comparable to Bayview Park. But, without the busy-ness out front.

I know someone who styed there and i have a reservation there. The outside is not fancy, but the rroms are clean. Mike sent some pic's he took of the room. Not to bad for the money. Some of the 4 & 5 star hotels get worse reader reviews if go to HotelTravel.com and read them. thereseveral sites that recommend it as well. I money is no option, i would check out a coule of the others. There is a Westin on the bay right there as in the same vicinity. It has a fantastic looking pool. There are several others with fairly good ratings. Good Luck

Any recommendation?

Hyatt is good, i stayed there during my college years for the Diplomatic Ball I have to attend.

I recommend Heritage Hotel. It's my bet. My favorite. This is where we stayed before. Nice buffet too!

Has anyone stayed at Shangri-la in Makati? My coworker says it is a good hotel, with good food too. But, it is 15 minute drive to Embassy.

I think Shangri-La is above our budget. Nevermind. Maybe on the next trip back.

Wow Shangri-la! I been inside that hotel and its really nice but very very expensive. Anyways its to far from the Embassy Manila that is more trouble to stay there then what we are looking forward to. Bayview park hotel is the best choice really..
