Affidavit of Support

Hi, I have searched everywhere for an answer to this question before posting, but cant seem to find an exact answer.

Does anyone know that if the affidavit of support has gone to the NVC and the case is complete and being sent to the Embassy, does that mean that its all ok, and has been approved?

My wife only used her income from her job as the support, as she makes about 6 times the poverty level, but she has only been at this job since July. We haven't had anything saying that the proof she has sent in was not enough, but nothing saying it is approved either, so does that mean everything at my interview should go smoothly as far as the Affidavit of Support is concerned?

Thanks

If the case was completed by the NVC, then it means that you're fine, they would have sent you an RFE if they had found something wrong. I would suggest taking her income information to the interview should the CO have any further questions.

When NVC says "case complete" then your I-864 has passed muster with NVC. However, it still must pass muster at the interview. It's often a good idea to update it, if it has been a while. We just had a member report the Consulate requested a joint sponsor even though NVC had forwarded the case, so it can happen.

You don't have a visa until you have a visa. That said, I think you should be ok but that's just an opinion.

You should always take copies of all the submitted paperwork to the interview. For the affidavit of support, I would suggest taking a copy of that and W-2 and tax return for last year, the 2007 tax return and W-2 if that's available yet, some recent pay stubs and if possible a letter from her employer.
