First off, I want you all to know that most of the time, I am fine, doing ok, accepting of my situation for what it is....

Then, inevitably, something happens to remind me of the royal suckiness of the whole thing. The bad part is, it's usually something happy. As in this case.

I have been to two weddings since Javier and I got engaged (Feb. of 2005).

I'm about to go to another one. Yet another friend has gotten engaged and set her wedding date for sometime in July. I'm her maid of honor. To make the event even more sweet, I'll be wearing the dress I had selected for my bridesmaids, which now I'll have to un-select.

She has met, begun dating, and now become engaged all since Javier and I have been engaged. There's nothing wrong with that-but to be honest, it brings to mind how ridiculously long this whole process is taking. My mom is giving me play-by-plays of all the wonderful wedding planning. They've done their registry. They've picked who's going to make the cake. That's all great for them, but it brings to mind how easy so many people have it, and makes me wonder again why I have it so difficult.

Call it a pity party, call it what you will...but I have now gone 4 months (into the great unknown of an Advisory Opinion) with no news, and it's starting-ok, not starting, continuing-to be really frustrating and it is turning me into a person I don't like!

I'm hoping to find a sympathetic ear here... (F)

cheer up it will be alright. I feel the same when those get reunited. then i think to myself.

soon we all will have our day. so think you will have YOUR DAY.. and it will be the sweetiest day ever. :thumbs:
