But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Sorry, it sux, I know. :(

I've been waiting for my real wedding since 2003. I'm married, but I was going to have a big wedding in Germany a few months later. Then I realized that I had an immigration problem, so I'm still waiting for my wedding. Maybe next summer....

You're so right about the dresses! I think that my problem is...this is going to be hard to explain. This process has left me powerless-completely out of control of the situation. My bridesmaids dresses (and various other wedding details that had already been sorted out) were things that I had control over-that was the dress I picked, nothing can change that. It was like, ok this thing really can be "my way." Even if this thing is seemingly insignificant, it was meaningful because I chose it. In all reality, though, what burns me is not the dress itself, but that knowing full well I had picked that one, she decided on it. It's like, ok what else are people going to take from me? Does that make sense? Probably not.

Melissa,

I understand what you mean about the process leaving you feeling powerless....I struggle with that myself,

melissa .... as hard as it is, you need to try and focus on the positive things that you are in control of. having so much time is a negative but make a small positive about it by putting away $25 into a savings acct.

a bridesmaid dress is not about your love for javier ... just think, there will be new and better syle dresses out when he comes home!!

sometimes it seems like the world is passing you by ... but everything will come together when the time is right!

Yes, that's the reason we have been waiting, although (and I hadn't made this public as of yet, but this seems as good a time as any), we have been toying with the idea of just dropping the whole thing and living in Mexico.

Melissa I know it is so hard to be separated and you said your talking of just moving to Mexico and getting married? I will say to pray about your decision and then whatever you decide I wish you all the best in your decision.

Melissa, this is really some good advice from Gimy....she is always so wise!! I couldn't have put it any better.

I know it's hard and it totally sucks, but you have us here to help you thru the chit, and pretty soon, you'll be together with your love again before you know it. Ya gotta believe!

Awwww Sry your feeling blue about things right now. I know how ya feel. I had to wait almost 2 and a half years to finally marry my hubby and I didn't even get to see him at all in that time. (Darn Military). But my mom is a firm believer in "Everything happens for a reason" So, we waited and waited and finally the day came that I could move there and marry him. All the waiting made it even more special . Everyone said we must have a strong relationship /love to wait that long and finally be together.

It will happen for you too Miss.

Maybe while waiting for your time you could start a folder and get ideas for your wedding. write in it all your Wedding ideas & dreams. We all know that it doesn't matter if you get married in a court house or have an elaborate Wedding the end result is still the same. Your Married ! But sometimes its nice to dream of that special day and what its going to be like .

During the planning of my first marriage I found out I had Cancer . It pretty much put an end to my dream wedding. ( almost put an end to me! ) Anyways, we still wanted to get married so my sister planned the wedding. I never felt it was MY wedding. So, when Jim & I got engaged I decided I was going to have that fairytale wedding I dreamed of no matter what. Alot of ppl said I didn't deserve to have a "Dream wedding" that since I was previously married , we should just go to a local court house. I felt very hurt by that. Some of my own family members even understand. But I told them I felt I was cheated on my first wedding cheated on my life by Cancer putting me thru Hell. So I did deserve this wedding and by God I was gonna have it. If they didn't want to accept that, they didn't have to come. It was just how I imagined it. Cept this time I married the right one!:luv:

You'll get your day Miss, just keep hoping, keep dreaming and it will come ! And the ppl at VJ will be anxiously awaiting to see you & javier's wedding pictures .
