Better imigration reporting!

I know there are many areas of imigration policy that need DRAMATIC reform, but there seems to be one area in particular that could be changed at very little cost to Immigration, and would greatly reduce the stress and anxiety of those going through the process: BETTER REPORTING.

For starters, immigration could tell us our queue number (for example, you are currently #16 in line). Knowing that would make it easier to endure the wait. As it is now, we often have no information and are sitting in an interminable information black hole! Instead, immigration posts "processing dates" on their site. The idea is that you can calculate your process date by seeing what they're currently processing. This only gives a vague "guestimate" at best, and only works if they're currently processing your particular type of visa. If you look at the processing dates for the CSC, for example, they are not processing a single other K3 visa, because there is no line-item for it. K3 visa applicants have no way of knowing the current processing dates, and hence, no way of projecting their own processing date.

I've decided to push for reform in this area. But I'm just a normal joe who has never done anything like this before. I'll soon have my wife here, and the pain will go away. But I want to help others who will come through the process, and maybe, just maybe, they can suffer less than I did. So I'm posting here to find out two things:

1) Where do I get started? Who should I contact to try to push for this kind of reform? If you've done something like this before, pointers would be appreciated. Please keep your comments and replies positive, even if you may have had a bad experience trying it. I don't want to get the wind blown out of my sails...

2) How many of you agree with me and think this is a good place to start with reform?

I am still wondering what being a US Citizen is good for.. how it has helped us through this immigration process.. even with 1)H1B (temporary workers), they can come in less than 1 month.. so really we shouldn't have married at all.. we should have applied for H1B visa for her to come, and then NOT have the intention of immigrating here... then get married and do adjustment of status.. so basically "single" temporary workers have the best chance of coming to the US... all the "adjustment of status" people have no right to complain here.. you are at least living with your loved ones and can see them or be with them more often than us.. but I'm not trying to attack you.. I'm attacking the immigration system and their priorities..

2) after that, it is someone who can sneak over the fence (illegal).. I don't understand why the "illegals" are complaining.. they got to stay in this country... they are complaining on what????... at least you are in the country and possibly can get a job too... so US Citizens are lower priority than both these groups...

so if I had her apply her for temporary worker visa or have her sneak over it will be much faster... that's just great... :(

The illegal immigrations ALSO get to be with your family too.. that is the most important thing.. I WILL WAIT for my spouse's status of adjustment papers to get approved for 20 years.. as long as we can see each other everyday and be able to hold each other... I'll even give them half my salary until then too.. it is the being apart that is the most difficult for us that are still waiting..

if you look under the I-129F.. there are many "categories" that people can come here.. one is the L - Intracompany Transfers... so if I have a company here and there (in China), then she would ALSO be able to transfer here as soon as 30 days?? The highest of these "categories" have a max of 2 months processing time..

that would be cool, SusieK... go Susie, go Susie, go Susie... yay... did you get your NOA1 for the I-129F yet?? Supposedly you should get that much faster than your I-130 NOA1... you can try asking for a REPLACEMENT NOTICE (took less than a week for me, but I really didn't call for that reason.. they assumed I lost my NOA1... sheesh)...  I am just sad now.. don't know what is happening.. saw a CNN video this morning

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2007/1...ddy.in.box.wbko

and I just started to cry.. I want to be able to do that for her too... surprise her when she gets approved.. =) I have made my first INFOPASS appointment on December 26.. hopefully the people there will be much better after Christmas.. I'll even bring my parents to PROVE our VISA APPLICATION IS FOR REAL... if nothing happens at that appointment, then I'm going to take them to court on 1/1/2008..

that would be cool, SusieK... go Susie, go Susie, go Susie... yay... did you get your NOA1 for the I-129F yet??

Go GOGGOOOOO lool.... no hun none of us are receving any receipts right now. Not in system either, but tis ok, will fight this thing another way. And you cant go to court on Jan 1, 2008 is a holiday lol...just trying to make ya laugh hun. Please hang tough and I feel for you.

Have a conference call tonight to try a few different ideas, lets see what can float our canoe down the river and also help others who may encounter other issues down the road that should have been removed by the cleaning crew.

Cheers luv

Susie

I posted my views under off-topic "angry with USCIS". I also posted the main Homeland Security number which got the police sent to my home (if your neighbor is a local cop, you've never even had a traffic ticket, and you bring it every day its ok to call the directors office after hours, which rolls over to the command center, where the FBI runs you immediately, sends cops to your house who hate feds anyway, admire your spouse, and leave with a smile) with no consequence but got my approval within 24 hours. What else? In this I would do anything, either we are Americans or the 6-8 week I129's that go out every day for immigrant workers are more important than our families and our family's lives.

I got through that one unscathed, but I would do it again. I've seen enough of "legal immigration" to sicken me. I ask nothing of any of you but i threw my future in the pot and won.
